Logs are being transported again on the railway between Wairoa and Napier line at the weekend, 10 months after the line was returned to service.KiwiRail is planning two return services each weekend, each with 24 wagons and carrying the equivalent of 24 truckloads of logs.Chief operating officer Todd Moyle said the service is expected to increase to daily as harvest volumes rise during the next few years. KiwiRail started the log service in late January after getting $6.2 million from the Provincial Growth Fund to restore the line south fro...
