Z Energy has stopped production at its Wiri biodiesel plant while it considers options to make the operation viable. The plant, designed to make 20 million litres of fuel from tallow annually, is being placed in “hibernation” while the firm looks at alternatives, including using it as an import terminal or possibly making product for export.
