Consumer NZ takes Z Energy to court over 'misleading' climate action claims

Z Energy is being taken to court by Consumer New Zealand and two non-profit organisations over accusations it is misleading customers over climate change action.The watchdog's case is that the fuel retailer’s sustainability marketing increased its reputation, leading to more fuel sales and profits.Consumer NZ chief executive Jon Duffy said the group was seriously concerned that Z Energy had made numerous public claims to imply it was making bold changes to significantly reduce its emissions and was urgently mitigating its contribution...
