The High Court at Auckland has ruled subcontractors who worked for the collapsed construction firm Stanley Group are the rightful owners of millions in retention and settlement funds, not liquidators. In a judgment released on Aug 29, Associate Judge Grant Brittain found that recovered retentions and settlement payments from former directors of the construction company should be distributed to subcontractors.Brittain's judgment said Waterstone Insolvency liquidators Damien Grant and Adam Botterill shouldn't apply the recovered fund...
