Metlifecare heads to court for takeover deal enforcement

Metlifecare has filed an application with the High Court in the latest twist in its stoush with EQT, seeking court orders to have the Swedish private equity firm's takeover offer enforced. A statement of claim was lodged last Friday at the Auckland High Court and Metlifecare advised the action to the NZX this morning, having lost an attempt on May 7 to have the court allow shareholders vote on the deal that EQT has announced it wants to quit.
