Air New Zealand is signalling it may lease a second Boeing 777-300 to help cover the loss of Airbus A320neos and A321neos from its fleet over coming months because of maintenance issues discovered by engine-maker Pratt & Whitney.The national carrier’s chief executive, Greg Foran, confirmed to BusinessDesk after the annual shareholders meeting in Wellington that the airline would shortly sign a dry lease” on one 777-300, as signalled at the tourism industry conference, TRENZ, in May.
