A 14,000sq m extension to the airport-based Christchurch Engine Centre to service new-generation Pratt & Whitney engines is expected to create 200 new jobs.The centre, a joint venture between Air New Zealand and Pratt & Whitney, already employs 400 staff for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) work on the AG V2500 engines used worldwide.The extension will enable the centre to service PW100-G JM engines used in Airbus A320/321 neo aircraft. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon – a former Air NZ chief executive – launched...
