Fletcher subsidiary Easysteel looks to cut jobs

Workers at Fletcher subsidiary Easysteel are "stunned" by a restructuring proposal received by workers on March 15, according to First Union organiser Justin Wallace.The union did not release the proposal because the process remains “fluid” but Wallace told BusinessDesk that as many as half of the 50 unionised Easysteel employees could lose their jobs.He said he could not speak to the situation of non-union members, adding “the risk was that Easysteel was the first of many Fletcher brands to begin cost-cutting measur...
