Covid gave and it took away in a ‘half of two quarters’ for listed express package group Freightways during its half-year reporting cycle.The upshot was a doubling in net profit to $43.7 million for the six months ended Dec 31 from $21.5m a year earlier, when Freightways wore a $19.2m charge on the expected earnout from its Big Chill division.
