The NZX and the European Energy Exchange will develop and operate a managed auction service for the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme, a key tool for meeting domestic and international climate policy targets.The NZ ETS puts a price on greenhouse gas emissions and the primary unit of trade is the New Zealand Unit, also called a carbon credit.  NZUs are scheduled to become auctionable from March 2021 to align the supply of units in the scheme with NZ’s emission reduction targets.According to the Ministry for the Environment, the gov...
