Retail sector a mixed bag as earnings approach, analysts say

Analysts have high and low hopes for the country’s listed retailers, three of which will report earnings in the coming days. First on the list is The Warehouse Group, which will report its interim earnings to Jan 26 on Friday.In a trading update released in March, the retail group said half-year sales fell 1.6% to $1.607 billion but eased to a 0.9% drop in the second quarter. Jarden equity analyst Guy Hooper said it would be interesting to see how that 1.6% decline is divided between the segments.“I suspect Noel Leeming po...
