SkyCity to close Auckland casino gambling area from Sep 9-13

SkyCity Entertainment Group says the gambling area of its Auckland casino will be shut from Sep 9 to Sep 13, after an Internal Affairs prosecution for breaches of host responsibility over five years.The shutdown will cost the casino an estimated $1 million a day and marks the first voluntary casino closure in New Zealand history.All SkyCity Auckland hotels, attractions, and restaurants and bars outside of the gambling area will continue to remain open as usual during this period, it said.The casino operator agreed to settle a suspension applica...
