Turners defies economic headwinds, reports $30.4m pre-tax profit

Turners beat its expectations of a record result, posting net profit before tax of $30.4 million for the six months to Sept 30. In August, the company said it expected net profit before tax to hit a record $26.9m for the half.  On Thursday, the automotive group reported revenue rose 5% to $219m compared to the prior comparable period, net profit after tax rose 13% to $21.9m, and earnings before interest and tax also rose 10% to $34.1m. It will pay a second-quarter fully imputed 8-cent dividend.The company said it was on track to...
