Trading in US stocks was muted overnight as the uneven progress towards vaccinating populations against covid-19 caused investor concern.Vaccine maker Moderna said earlier this week it would trial a booster shot for its covid-19 vaccine after tests showed it may not be as effective on the new, more infectious, South African variant.
