The deal with Methanex to yet again close its operations, this time for eight weeks, is another sign of the growing co-operation to avoid an energy shortage this winter, and also political intervention.On Wednesday, Contact said it would take 2.8 petajoules (PJ) of Methanex’s gas during the shutdown.On Thursday, Genesis said it would take up to 1.26 PJ of the gas not required by other contracted users.
