New competitor in micro-investing market

Share registry firm Link Market Services has launched a micro-investing app in competition with Wellington-based Sharesies. The subsidiary of ASX-listed Link Group says the app - called ShareMeUp - has no monthly fees and its brokerage fees start at 99 cents. For investors depositing every month, this would appear cheaper than Sharesies which starts its monthly fees at $1.50 month for balances over $50.
