New car sales accelerate during Feb

The Motor Industry Association says new car registrations last month were at their highest levels for any February on record, with new car sales at 12,358, up 8% on February 2020.For the year to date, the market is up 7.1%, or 1,735 units ahead of the first two months of 2020.Association chief executive David Crawford said the industry has benefited from recent stock arrivals and a resilient local economy where New Zealanders "continue to spend what might otherwise be spent on international travel on new cars".Of total sales, 181 were...
