Port Marlborough says, with proper maintenance, its Picton wharf used for Interislander ferry services will outlive the current ferries.The council-owned port corrected comments by KiwiRail chief executive Peter Reidy, who told a select committee on Thursday that the wharf was at the end of its life and had only 2-3 years left.Reidy and KiwiRail chair David McLean spent a significant portion of the hearing explaining cost overruns on the Interislander replacement project, which is being wound down after the government said in December it would...
