RMA fast-track convener appointed

Environment Minister David Parker has appointed chief environment court judge Laurie Newhook to convene new fast-track infrastructure consenting panels.The Expert Consenting Panels were created by the Covid-19 Recovery (Fast-track Consenting) Act passed last week to bypass the unwieldy resource management act.The panels, selected by Newhook, will consist of three commissioners, with resource management knowledge, technical expertise and understanding of tikanga Māori, to consent fast-track projects.Newhook became a judge in 2001 and has been an...
