Payment processor Worldline NZ reported Friday that underlying retail spending, excluding the hospitality sector, rose marginally in May.Payments on credit and debit cards reached $2.93 billion in the month, up just 0.8% on May 2023.The underlying figure does not account for large clients moving to and from Worldline.Worldline processes payments for 80,000 merchants around the country, the largest proportion of New Zealand’s transactions by value.
