NZ wool to warm Danish feet in $1.5M slipper deal
By Tina Morrison March 18 (BusinessDesk) - Glerups, the Danish woollen slipper maker, has contracted New Zealand wool growers to provide the majority of its fibre for the next two years, in a deal worth about $1.5 million. The family-owned slipper business, based in the northern Danish town of Aars, will buy 90 tonnes of coarse wool from state-owned farmer Landcorp and 90 tonnes of finer mid-micron wool sourced through the New Zealand Merino Company as part of the deal.
