The end of oil refining in New Zealand will not have any material impact on petrol prices or energy security, Z Energy says.The country’s largest fuel retailer was one of Refining NZ’s shareholders that overwhelmingly voted in favour of it moving to an import only terminal.Barring exceptional events such as a reversal in the board’s thinking or Refining NZ’s bankers not supporting the change, the move to end refining will begin in mid-2022.Z corporate affairs manager Matt Hardwick said motorists and other customers were...
