Peter Mersi, who heads the Covid-19 All of Government Response Group, has been appointed as the new commissioner of Inland Revenue from July 1.Mersi was seconded to the covid response in March from his role as chief executive of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) - an appointment that was expected to last until the end of June, covering the peak of the omicron response.In an internal email announcing his departure, Mersi praised MOT staff for working closely with people in the transport sector to respond to the many challenges caused by the covid...
