The Government’s new fast-track consenting regime has delivered its first housing approval to the Maitahi Village development in Nelson.The project, which lodged its application in February, was signed off on this week by an independent expert panel under the Fast-track Approvals Act.The mixed-use development will deliver about 180 homes, including 50 iwi-led houses by Ngāti Koata, as well as a retirement village of 194 townhouses and 36 in-care units.
