A mistake in demand allocation led to Monday night’s electricity blackouts being more widespread than they should have been according to Transpower’s chief executive Alison Andrew.Speaking to an industry function on Tuesday evening, Andrew said part of the problem was an error by the state owned enterprise responsible for operating the system and running the national grid.The error had come in an instruction to line companies and other customers about demand allocation, which “wasn’t picked up” when the notice went...
