Newly minted National Party leader Christopher Luxon has put his rival for the leadership this week, Simon Bridges, at the number three spot in the caucus with the plum finance and infrastructure portfolios.Bridges, who led the party in opposition for two years and three months until May 2020, withdrew from the leadership race early Tuesday afternoon, preventing a caucus vote and allowing Luxon – a first term MP – an uncontested and politically smooth route to the top.It was not immediately clear whether Bridges replaces Andrew Bayl...
