Beef + Lamb New Zealand’s latest levy proposal would mean a 27% increase in the levy ceiling for sheep farmers and a 10% lift in the ceiling for cattle operations.According to the proposal – which farmers are currently voting on – the new levy ceiling on sheep would be 95 cents per slaughtered head, up from 75 cents.  The new proposed levy ceiling on beef would be $5.95 a head versus the current $5.40.
