New Zealand growers are turning to direct-to-consumer facilitators to get their products into the market.This shift is part of a larger consumer trend towards subscription retail, which gained momentum during the covid-19 pandemic.Advantages can involve greater flexibility, derisking, and, in some cases, improved grower returns and cashflow.  The interest in alternative distribution models comes as prices for fresh produce are falling.
