Over 9,000 submissions received for govt's emissions reduction plan

The Ministry for the Environment received 9,320 submissions on the government’s emissions reduction plan by Wednesday's deadline. It is now up to ministers to finalise New Zealand's carbon budgets and policies to meet them by May next year.This will mean balancing a number of competing priorities and making decisions on contentious areas including how to treat agricultural emissions which produce almost half of NZ's greenhouse gas emissions.DairyNZ said in its submission the sector "is firmly committed to dairy farmi...
