House prices increased by 0.4% in January compared to December, according to the January Real Estate Institute of New Zealand's house price index.The number of properties sold in January was up by 4.9% compared to January 2023.However, sales numbers in Auckland fell by 17.2% compared to the same month last year, with the rest of NZ picking up the slack with a 16% increase in sales.Median sale prices fell slightly on a month-to-month basis.
