Jacinda Arden's government has just decided that house prices are going to fall; a lot.And rents are going to have to rise; a lot.Time will tell just how much.Because the move to remove interest deductibility for investors in residential property destroys the economics of owning a rental property.Until now, the rules applying to residential property investment have allowed owners to deduct interest as a cost of doing the business of owning and renting a house or apartment, in the same way every other business can deduct their interest costs...
