The Ministry of Education has reached a confidential agreement with the landlord of the head office it abandoned because of a seismic report.Mātauranga House is next to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) at 33 Bowen St and previously housed the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).The Ministry of Education (MOE) evacuated the building in May 2022, a response that the owner criticised as a “knee-jerk reaction” to an engineer's report.A MOE spokesperson said that as part of the settlement, the existing lease...
