Retail activity rose in the March quarter, according to Stats NZ’s latest Retail Trade Survey. The total volume of seasonally adjusted retail sales was $25 billion for the March 2025 quarter compared with the December 2024 quarter, up 0.8%, while the total value of seasonally adjusted retail sales was $31b, up 1.5%.The total value of retail sales was $30b, up 1.4% ($417m) compared with the March 2024 quarter.Sales in the South Island increased 2.7% ($200m) to $7.6b, while sales in the North Island increased 1.7% ($373m) to $23b.Westp...
