The initial flurry to support local businesses hit by the covid-19 lockdown has subsided as consumers regained their freedom to shop around, but researchers say retail parochialism is settling at a higher level than before the pandemic. A survey by business consultancy Rutherford Labs during lockdown found New Zealanders experienced a “new sense of national pride” stemming from the covid-19 response and pledged support to 'buy local' in the future.The research found 53 percent of people are making changes...
