Growth in online sales helped Woolworths Group's New Zealand segment boost earnings. The grocery retailer reported earnings for the six months to Jan 5 on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) Wednesday. The NZ division’s earnings before interest and taxes (ebit) rose 15.2% compared with the prior comparable period to $82 million as total sales rose 2.7% to $4.285 billion.The group's Australian supermarket operation reported a 12.8% decline in ebit.
