Last year’s post-lockdown consumption-led economic bounceback combined with lower costs and sustained audience growth to deliver the state-owned broadcaster its strongest profit since its 2003 restructuring.For the 12 months to June 30, TVNZ reported a net profit of $59.2 million, an $85m turnaround on the previous year’s $25.8m loss and by far its strongest result in the last 18 years.The result comes just weeks ahead of cabinet deliberations on how to merge TVNZ with its non-commercial radio and digital broadcasting cousin, Radio...
