SNAP Govt delays MightyRiverPower sale to next year
Sept. 3 (BusinessDesk) - Prime Minister John Key has announced the partial privatisation of MightyRiverPower will occur between March and June next year. It will now engage in a brief period of consultation with iwi on the "share plus concept" raised in the Waitangi Tribunal interim report. Key said the government's current view is that these shares plus concept should not be progressed. The proposal suggested giving Maori interests rights and power in relation to MRP "above and beyond the rights of other shareholders." (BusinessDesk)
