South Port annual profit slips 3%, beating guidance as freight volumes match 2016 record

By Paul McBeth Aug. 24 (BusinessDesk) - South Port New Zealand posted a 3 percent decline in annual profit, beating guidance, as the Bluff maritime hub operator matched record freight volumes set a year earlier.  Net profit fell to $8.4 million, or 32.2 cents per share, in the 12 months ended June 30, from $8.7 million, or 33.2 cents, a year earlier, the Bluff-based company said in a statement.
