A Jaecoo New Zealand spokesperson has confirmed that the new J7 SUV, with plug-in hybrid power and an "estimated" range of 1,200km, is a starter for the local market in April 2025.Also just announced for Australia in January, the J7 PHEV employs what the brand calls a super hybrid system (SHS) that can run in pure electric, series, parallel and energy-recovery modes. The terminology and technology are similar to that used by BYD in its Sealion 6 SUV and Shark 6 ute models.The PHEV has a large 18.3kWh battery that gives a WLTP ele...
