The New Zealand Open has ramped up its purse to $2 million, a major step up from last year's $1.6m in prize money for professional players.That's on the back of a growing queue of top sponsors for the 103rd iteration of the co-sanctioned Australasian and Asian tour event, which tees off at Arrowtown's Millbrook Resort on Feb 29. In 2011, when the Australasian tour first sanctioned the event, the total prize money was $450,000. The championship, which uniquely runs as a Pro-Am, pairs 156 paying amateurs with profession...
