The government will allocate $86.5 million over the next four years to improve access to driver licence testing and training in its next budget, social development minister Carmel Sepuloni said. In a pre-budget briefing to the Auckland Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Sepuloni said the funding will address "critical equity" issues and help keep people, whose criminal records started with being fined for driving without a licence, out of jail. She said the increased funding will go towards targeted support for people to prog...
