Canterbury’s regional council last year proposed buying a stake of Christchurch International Airport from city authorities. Environment Canterbury (ECan) framed the bid as a way of helping Christchurch city council (CCC) pay for the new Canterbury Multi-Use Arena (CMUA), sources say.
