Auckland Airport has announced a reset of its aeronautical charges for the five-year period spanning 2023 to 2027, which will take effect from 1 July 2023.

The new charges will fund major investment in long-life infrastructure, including transport, airfield, stormwater upgrades and a new baggage system, as well as the new domestic facility to be integrated into the existing international terminal.

The increase in charges will also reflect the higher cost of capital in the current economic environment.

The new charges will average $11.85 for domestic jet travel, $8.15 for regional airline charges and $37.25 for international charges.

The airport will invest up to $5 billion in aeronautical infrastructure over the period, with the new charges reflecting just the $2.5 billion of investment that will be completed and in use by airlines and passengers by the end of the period.
