General Capital has announced the appointment of Anita Killeen as an independent director to its board.

Killeen is a barrister specialising in financial crime and fraud, civil and criminal litigation, and governance and dispute resolution.

She has held various governance roles in the legal, financial, local government, education, health, and not-for-profit sectors.

Killeen is an alumna of the Auckland University School of Law, the Harvard Business School, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the Institute for Strategic Leadership.

Her appointment will take effect on 1 February 2024.

She will retire at the next annual shareholder meeting but will be eligible for re-election.

General Capital's board has confirmed that Killeen is an independent director.
