Briscoe Group has reported positive year-to-date sales growth for the nine months to Oct 27, 2024, when adjusted for the Labour Day promotion.
Total group sales increased 0.53%, while the homeware and sporting goods segments saw growth of 0.36% and 0.8%, respectively.
Online sales accounted for 18.91% of the group's total sales.
However, reported group sales were $546.1 million, down 0.51% from the same period last year.
Group managing director Rod Duke acknowledged the challenges in the retail market and expressed hope that recent decreases in the official cash rate would boost consumer confidence and retail spending.
The company expects its full-year net profit after tax to fall in the range of $70m-$77m, excluding a one-off tax adjustment.
