Contact Energy announced today that it has approved a $300 million investment in a new 51.4MW geothermal power station near Taupō, as part of its Contact26 strategy to lead New Zealand's decarbonisation.
The company has also made strong progress on a range of renewable energy projects across the country and reported a net profit of $182m for the financial year ending 30 June 2022.
