Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has signed a construction contract for its fifth building on the East Tāmaki campus in Auckland.

The company has partnered with Dominion Constructors for the project, which is expected to cost around $250 million.

The new building, with a gross floor area of about 28,000sq m, will serve as a space for research and development, manufacturing and distribution.

It will feature an open-plan work environment to promote collaboration.

Construction is set to begin this month, with the facility expected to be operational in 2027.

Fisher & Paykel said the new building will accommodate its expected growth in Auckland over the next five years.

The company also recently submitted a plan change application for an additional campus in Karaka, Auckland, to support long-term growth.
