Greenfern appoints new director, secures cannabis registration

Greenfern Industries (NZX:GFI) has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Plant as a non-executive independent director.

Plant, a former chief medical officer of EQALIS Pharmaceuticals, brings extensive experience and skills in the healthcare industry to the role.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen GFI's governance leadership as the company transitions to a more established player in the medicinal cannabis and biotechnology sector.

In addition to the board appointment, GFI also revealed that it has received a New Medicinal Cannabis Product registration for its cannabis-based ingredient, GFI-04.

The company plans to export the first consignment of GFI-04 cannabis flower, pending the acquisition of a license to export a controlled drug.

Greenfern aims to complete 8-10 harvests per year from its new facility in Taranaki and is seeking to secure further binding offtake agreements.
