Meridian Energy Limited released their monthly operating report for December 2022, showing a decrease in national hydro storage from 138% to 116%, South Island storage decreasing to 111% and North Island storage increasing to 144%.
Electricity demand in December 2022 was 0.4% lower than the same month last year, and Meridian's retail sales volumes increased by 1.4%.
Total inflows in Q2 were 0.8% lower than Q2 last year, while retail sales volumes increased by 4.5%.
Total operating costs were 33.2% higher and total capital expenditure was 185.0% higher than Q2 last year.
