Meridian Energy Limited released its monthly operating report for October 2022, showing an increase in national hydro storage from 146% to 149% of historical average, and South Island storage to 154%.
October 2022 was dry and mild for much of the country, and electricity demand was higher than the same month last year.
New Zealand Aluminium Smelter's average load was 573MW, and Meridian's New Zealand retail sales volumes increased 11.0% compared to October 2021.
